The New York Association of Culinary Professionals (NYACP) (formerly New York Asso. of Cooking Teachers (NYACT)) was founded in October of 1980 by professional cooking teachers from the Metropolitan New York area.

Today, NYACP is a four state 125+ member professional organization of teachers, caterers, food writers, stylists, chefs, restaurateurs, retailers, and other culinary professionals.

NYACP's ongoing purpose is to:

Promote the interests of culinary professionals
Promote professional standards for those engaged in the culinary arts
Provide a forum for the exchange of ideas and information through educational programs.
Promote the education of aspiring and promising young professionals through the NYACP scholarship program
Pay tribute to those who have made lasting contributions to our profession through our Annual Honors Event
Membership in NYACP is available to any individual or corporation engaged professionally in a food-related business.
